Grcic Konstantin
Konstantin Grcic was born in Munich, Germany in 1965.
He completed his MA in Industrial Design at the Royal College of Art, London in 1990 and went on to work for Jasper Morrison, where he honed his approach to design.
Since setting up his own design practice Konstantin Grcic Industrial Design (KGID) in Munich in 1991 he has developed furniture, products and lighting for some of Europe’s leading design companies such as Authentics, Cappellini, Driade, Flos, Iittala, SCP and Wireworks.
Many of his products have received prestigious design awards, the Mayday-lamp produced by Flos was selected into the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
In 1999 he won the competition to furnish a public square in London’s Canary Wharf.
Konstantin Grcic Industrial Design is currently working on various new projects such as a technical lighting system for Flos and a microwave oven for Whirlpool.
