Υ. Moralis Painting

Υ. Moralis Painting

On Thursday, 16 November 2006, Zoumboulakis Galleries is presenting ten works by Yiannis Moralis created between 2002 and 2006.

The works have been created in Aegina, where the artist works and spends most of his time.

Even though the artist himself never talks about his work, this collection reveals particular sensitivity, personal experiences, feelings and memories.

Going over some older pieces of writing on the work of Yannis Moralis, in 1962 Manos Hadjidakis writes among other things “Moralis constitutes a distinguished figure in contemporary Greek art. Since his early years, he has not stopped working intensively, seeking the utmost expression of his artistic temperament which is gradually realised through the dominance in the means of expression that are becoming more and more minimal through the balance between lyrical sense and reflection”.

Today, almost half a century later, one discovers the unswerving consistency, both in his work and his personal life.
