Giorgos Avgeros was born in Chania in 1953. He acquired his first knowledge at the G. Markoulakis School of Design, and his teachers were the painters V. Kelaidis and A. Petroulakis.

The 1970s was in Athens, in the workshops of G. Vogiatzis and V. Korkovelos. In 1981, he went to study in Paris, while in 1982 he abandoned it and settled permanently in Chania, where for a long time he worked on sculptures and constructions.

In recent years, painting has dominated his work, often combined with the relief element or construction.
